Hij geeft verdieping bij de tentoonstelling en verteld over zijn samenwerking met de Italiaanse fotograaf, activist en politica Letizia Battaglia . In de tentoonstelling Life, Love and Death in Sicily is te zien hoe Letizia Battaglia in de schaduw van de maffia de rauwe realiteit van het dagelijks leven in Sicilië vastlegde. Vanaf het begin van de jaren zeventig bracht zij op indrukwekkende wijze de impact van het maffiabewind op de Siciliaanse bevolking in beeld en het leed dat daaruit voortkwam.

In these flash tours, Paolo Falcone will talk about his work and his role as curator of the exhibition Life, Love and Death in Sicily by Letizia Battaglia (1935–2022). He will provide further insight into the exhibition and discuss his collaboration with the Italian photographer, activist and politician Letizia Battaglia. Falcone will place Battaglia’s work in context and offer a personal insight into her legacy.
The exhibition Life, Love and Death in Sicily shows how Letizia Battaglia captured the raw reality of daily life in Sicily in the shadow of the Mafia. From the early 1970s onwards, she impressively documented the impact of Mafia rule on the Sicilian population and the suffering that resulted from it.
